Anna has experience working with individuals: children, adolescents, and adults ages 18-65, as well as couples. She has worked in a mental health practice in tandem with psychiatrists and on a college campus. She is passionate about serving marginalized communities, as well as a more inclusive definition of trauma.
Her perspective as a therapist was refined through her time as an intern, working with clients who presented with a diverse array of challenges. She specializes in therapy for grief, chronic illness, and trauma and how these affect all aspects of life. She focuses on inner-healing to deal with outer-circumstances and building resilience as humans in an unforgiving world.
As a military kid, Anna grew up all over, but landed in Virginia as her home base. She has a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech, and a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She’s lived in many different places and is no stranger to change.
Anna loves spending time with her people and her dog. She loves being active, going to the beach, mentoring teens, traveling, reading, and aimlessly enjoying her city.
Who She Sees:
My approach is led by a deep understanding of what it feels like to sit in front of a counselor for the first time, as my own personal experience of the other side of the room led me to get licensed as a therapist. I see people as a whole, the holistic view that each part of our lives affects the others. I am an emotionally-focused, trauma-informed, attachment-oriented therapist, and looking for clients who want to come as they are, experience a non-judgmental space, and begin to heal.
At Kinship Holistic Psychotherapy, we foster a safe relationship in which you can experience emotions, heal from past experiences, and embrace all parts of your story. Book online.
All Kinship's therapists work as independent contractors.
We meet our clients both virtually and locally at 680 St Andrews Blvd Unit A 29407, Charleston, South Carolina.
