Merrick has experience working with couples and individuals from many different phases and walks of life. Her approach is attachment-focused, emotionally centered, and trauma-informed, putting into clinical practice the belief that our deepest healing comes through connection– with ourselves, our world, and others. It is through this lens, with compassion and non-judgment, that Merrick journeys alongside her clients toward holistic healing. This involves a renewed connection with ourselves and others, through working with the body, our brain, and the many different parts of your story.
Her approach was honed through her experience working with couples facing communication difficulties and relationship ruptures, and with individuals. She has worked with a wide range of issues and specializes in relationship issues, OCD, depression, ADHD, anxiety, and addiction.
Originally from Atlanta, Merrick attended the University of Georgia, where she earned two bachelor’s degrees in Communication Studies and Religion. She received her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and gained clinical experience working at a substance abuse treatment center in Atlanta and in a private practice setting, where she worked with a myriad of teens, couples, and individuals.
She is a Nationally Certified Counselor who has received training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples and individuals. Additionally, she has pursued training in trauma, focusing on working with both the body and mind. Merrick is also Prepare-Enrich certified for premarital counseling.
Merrick loves spending time with her husband and friends outside and at the beach, playing sports, reading, and getting into new hobbies!
Who She Sees:
To those who long to live lives that are connected, full and vibrant, I see you. To those that are hurting, feeling alone, and trying to make it to the next day, the next right thing, I see you. My goal is to see people who are feeling disconnected– from themselves, others and their world, become awake to life.”
